AI Uses Google Plus or Twitter to Identify, Predict, and Influence Trends

Anyone know of a correlation, or mapping tool that can store tags, and then correlate bits of information from the tool, such as other words from the tweet, as well as data on the Tweeter.  It gives you visually a better sense on how trends evolve, and propagate.  There would probably be a bit of simple Artificial Intelligence (AI), rules engine, and perhaps an induction engine for future trend predictions.  I’d say this would take just a little time to develop.  There has got to be something out there already.It seems like it would be straight forward to develop, and the intuitiveness of the User Interface, the technological analogy to help anyone with a basic sense of visual articulation should see the trends forming before they happen.  I have AI Uses Google Plus or Twitter to Identify, Predict, and Influence Trends been working with Artificial Intelligence officially since college, and in practical applications from database Governor to email compliance and legal tools for pattern recognition, this is a walk in the park for any person to develop.  It also means, the tools can be enhanced to influence trends, I would imagine.

WordPress Shortcode API to Cloud Storage to Sell Any Digital Intellectual Property.

So, I was a browsing, going through bills, and thinking, hey relating to my other article on Google Docs and their new API where you could use them as a data warehouse, it occurred to me.   Why can’t we have a public API for all the Cloud Storage systems like Amazon Web Services (AWS) S3 (or, create a plugin to WordPress, add E-Commerce, and you now have your own place to sell digital music, or any Digital intellectual, property store, or host your own database OLTP or OLAP.

And my bro, Fat Panda, might have been thinking the same thing.  He’s one step behind, but he will catch on.  I will try to update for ‘the cheap seats’ in a bit.

For the cheap seats, even those static files stored up in the cloud, you can use a similar model to Google Docs <-> Google Fusion where you add tabular data to storage, read,over-write, or update using home made table locking mechanism, and essentially use the cloud as a data warehouse, or even a database.  Microsoft seems to have a lead on transitional and analytical storage with Microsoft Azure, relational in nature in the cloud, but it is so much simpler than that with cloud storage, although if not implemented with ‘row’ locking,there is an issue with OLTP (On Line Transaction Processing) row level, high volume, but with OLAP, On Line Analytic Processing, not so much, analyzing the way your business does business, and profit more from your consumer data.  There are easy ways to implement row level locking for row level locking of tabular data stored in cloud storage like AWS or Box.Net,  The methods to implement row level locking for OLTP systems using storage in the cloud are easy to implement, and will remind you of old school type alternatives to supplement the AutoNumber columns in MS Access or Identity columns in SQL Server. At the end of the day to either sell digital intellectual property from a WordPress implementation, or run your entire business with a robust cloud database solution for OLTP or OLAP systems using flat file storage!  Why go through all this when the Amazons AWS and Microsoft Azure have or will yearn to start building these solutions in parallel?  Cost effective solutions, and the entire database arena monopolized by Oracle, IBM, Microsoft, and MySQL, just got extended to a whole lot of database vendors.  It may take a while, but we already know the big Gorilla in the room Google is the first to strike in this game, as a non-traditional database vendor, cloud storage provider with their updated Google Docs API, and optionally usage of their Fusion application.

YouTube Video Streams from Google Glasses with Advertising? Behind the Scenes on DVDs?

A phenomena of reality T.V. makes me come to realize that this idea may be of interest to a wide audience. Although I am personally not interested in reality television, using an image video stabilizer, I was a bit jealous yesterday. Someone was headed to the Caribbean, and I was a bit jealous for a moment, but then I became relieved because although I like the destination, the journey annoys me, but to each his or her own.  I can imagine celebrities, musicians, and anyone can put on their Google Glasses, and stream their video feed to e.g. You Tube, either sell the stream, like a singer or drummer, or even an audience member of a concert will promote their Google Glasses Stream, and even sell advertising on the bottom as YouTube currently performs with YouTube videos.  A model walking down the ‘catwalk’, and the list goes on.  Even auction you’re stream if you are a celebrity for charity?   Man, reality T.V.   Can also give a whole new meaning to behind the scenes on movie DVDs, from a Director to whomever is in a movie, cast or crew.


When Only Money Talks in SEO & Online Advertising

It seems to me in my last few years of experience, when you want to be heard on the Internet, you can have the best Keywords, Metadata, SEO Title, and Metadata, and your placement in the search IS only if you pay for the advertising to the company running the platform.  You actively pay for advertising, you go to the top of the list, and they tell you if you bid X you will be placed at #1 ranking. That should advance your hit rate in a calculation.  If you have a placement of 1, and a high click through rate on the search engine, that should also effect your placement in the search engine when you don’t advertise, if you have similar SEO keywords, metadata, and click through rate, because after all, the relevancy has not changed, so mathematically it should be at equilibrium.  It’s just how much you are paying that changes.  I will quote one of my favorite movies yet again, Moneyball.

People, we have to think differently, out of the box, if you want…full stop.  It’s like the Mofia is running the Advertising Online, muscling you, a shakedown for a payment to be heard, and if it only suits their political agenda to top off. We have two companies, with no disrespect, but it’s an oligopoly, essentially, Microsoft Ads Bing and Google Ads.  This is as close to anti-trust as possible, and although I think Google AdWords has an amazing platform, and in favor of both parties, because my mantra is all perspectives are valid, this is Ironic, in this case, it’s Microsoft who might have a case against Google in an Anti-trust suit, and I like them both.  Guess what, it’s a case for every single advertising agency, a class action law suit, which could even involve SEO Experts paid to help the advertisers.

Social Networks, Ring Fencing Data, and Regional Data Centers

I worked on a project where if there was communication between two parties within the same country not intended for ‘out of country’ consumption, that data needed to be housed in local DCs (Data Centers) for regulatory purposes. It occurs to me that many social networks have centralized data centers. What if on Twitter two people within the same country DM each other, direct message, regarding confidential financial information and that data is routed cross boarders and stored in a central location, say, in the U.S., would that social network be out of compliance with local statues regardless of if the user agreed to the social networks terms. Couldn’t the social networks at least be charged with aiding these potential criminals of avoiding their local country laws? I think this was bought up before but it reoccurred to me with a tweet I saw, Googles floating data center and virtual data center in North Carolina.

Google Glasses for Dynamic Language, and Local Gesture Translation, and Let the Deaf be ‘Heard’

If you have Google Project Glass / Glasses with WiFi to WiFi device connectivity to a smartphone with a pair of head phones, or Glasses, and use Bluetooth, you can have local Language dialect and gesture translation instantly to your ears.  If you are looking at someone and they are articulating in anyway, either by signing, using local gestures, or are speaking in any dialect, an instant, fluent translation program reads and understands the real-time video frames per second (FPS) or Frame Rate, either using 50/60/120 FPS, then applies object recognition to read lips, or human movement, then plays a voice in your own local language dialect in your head phones or Bluetooth.

Travel the world and experience the cultures truly as the locals do, empathize, or use them in the workplace and truly eliminate discrimination against the deaf.

Object recognition may need to be applied to each video frame or sampling of the video stream from the real-time video feed of the Google Glass / Glasses.

Also, managers who employ people who are deaf may apply for a tax deduction or even get the glasses for free with a tax write off for their company.  In part, thank the people that produced Mr. Holland’s Opus. Also, I can see a new wave of popular kids coming up with gestures, and instantly recognized using the Glasses. Sorry kids.  Supposedly, these glasses will ship to Android Google Developers for the cost of $1,500 USD by the end of the year; however, that is just rumor, and if you know Java, an relatively easy programming language to pick up, the Android OS Java extensions are relatively easy as well.  A Small price to pay for a huge market, and maybe even tax deduction for a small business under Research and Development costs.  See your local small business government affairs office for more details.

Tablet Developers Make Business Intelligence Tools using Google as a Data Warehouse: Completing with Oracle, IBM, and Microsoft SQL Server

And, he shoots, and scores.  I called it, sort of.  Google came out of the closet today as a data warehouse vendor, at least they need a community of developers to connect the dots to help build an amazing Business Intelligence suite.

Google came out with a Google Docs API today, which using languages from Objective-C (iOS), C#, to Java so you can use Google as your Data Warehouse for any size business. All you need to do is write an ETL program which uploads and downloads tables from your local database to Google Docs, and you create your own Business Intelligence User Interface for the creation and viewing of Charts & Graphs.  It looks like they’ve changed strategies, or this was the plan all along.

Initially I thought that Google Fusion was going to be the table editing tool to manipulate your data that was transferred from your transactional database using the Google Docs API.  Today they released a Google Docs API and developers can create their own ETL drivers and a Business Intelligence User Interface that can run on any platform from an Android Tablet, iPad, or Windows Tablet.

A few days ago, I wrote the article, which looked like they were going to use a tool called Google Fusion, which was in Beta at the time to manipulate tabular data, and eventually extend it to create common BI components, such as graphs, charts, edit tables, etc.

A few gotchas: Google Docs on Apple iPad is version 1.1.1 released 9/28/12, so we are talking very early days, and the Google Docs API was released today.   I would imagine since you can also use C#, someone can make a Windows application on the desktop to manipulate the data tables, create and view graphs, so a Windows Tablet can be used.  The API also has Java compatibility, so from any Unix box, or any platform, Java is write once, run anywhere, wherever your transitional database lives, a developer is able to write a driver to transfer the data to Google Docs dynamically, and then use Google Docs API for Business Intelligence.  You can even write an ETL driver which all it does is rapidly transfer data, like an ODBC, or JDBC driver and use any business intelligence tools you have on your desktop, or a nightly ETL.  However, I can see developers creating business intelligence tools on Android, iPad, or Windows tables to modify tables, create and view charts, etc., using custom BI tool sets and their data warehouse now becomes Google Docs.

At that time, Google Fusion was marked as Beta on 10/13/2012.  Google has since stripped off the word Beta, but doesn’t matter.  Its even better with the Google API to Google Docs.  Google Fusion could be your starter User Interface, however, if your Android, iOS (Apple iPad), and Windows developers really embrace this API, all of the big database companies like IBM, Oracle, and Microsoft may have their market share eroded to some extent, if not a great extent.

Hey Gs (Guys and Gals), I forgot to mention, you can also make your own video or music streaming applications perhaps, using the basic calls of get and receive file other companies are already doing such as AWS, Box, etc. It’s a simple get / send API, so not sure if it’s applicable to ‘streaming’ at this stage, just another storage location in the ‘cloud’, which would be quite boring.  Although thinking of it now, aren’t all the put / send cloud solutions potential data warehouses using ETL and the APIs discussed and published above?  Also, it’s ironic that Google would also be competing with itself, if it was a file share, ‘stream’ videos, and YouTube?

Winning Business Model for On Line Periodicals: FT verse NYT

I’ve noticed that both the Financial Times and the New York Times seems to have articles I want to read, but the Financial Times, on clicking the title link in Twitter makes me take the time to register or become a subscriber, which discourages me to open the article even though it has an eye catching title.  On the other hand we have the New York Times, which also has eye catching titles, but allows me to read 10 articles a month without registering or subscribing.  The content was so good I became fustrated every time I reached my limit and eventually, since I quote them so much in my own blog posts (or students for school), they get me thinking about opportunities, I finally payed the initial .99 cents and also will probably renew for the $35 USD. It’s a good business model for online periodicals. The New York Times experimented with showing the first paragraph of the article as a preview to help move forward the consumer with the subscription purchase; however, that was not enough to entice me to purchase, AND only annoyed me further which caused me to want to go somewhere else for my news, a detraction to the content no matter what the preview said.  If the preview was very good, it almost enticed me, but it was  a detractor in a quantifiable way, outweighing the + & – of the psychological effect .

Thanks for sparking the idea Newsweek with your announcement, Newsweek Will End Print Magazine in 2013.  It has been floating around in for a while in my head, but thought it was fairly straight forward.  I was wondering why very periodical didn’t adopt the NYT #subscription   #business  model of how to charge for #periodicals .  Then I thought, maybe it’s just different cultures, different people, different mind sets on acquisition of news / media, which could still be true.  The Financial Times headquarters is in #London , #UK, but these periodicals both have diverse cultures where their headquarters are ‘posted’, so no that can’t be it.  Is it the target market?  No, not really both audiences seem very busy, time is money, so that can’t be it.  Maybe  the spark flashed, the New York Times #nytimes  just has a better approach to getting subscribers than the #financialtimes , so here’s the post I whipped up.

PostgreSQL / local database and SOA, mid tier for cloud solutions to improve performance

In an article I read from the NY Times, may be making a play to banish Oracle as a supported platform. However, the system which might be interesting would be a PostgreSQL, or in memory database, acts as a local cache for the transaction based system, clears the local database records/cache after it uploads the ‘staged’ data from the local database to a cloud database where the data is ultimately stored. The activities on the local database should be fast, and the cloud database is a) data that may be transformed to any cloud based solution vendor(s), if necessary, if an SOA is built on top of the local database which communicates with the cloud via APIs. b) enables a local data-mart, if not transferred in real time, i.e. use a nightly transformation and have access to “day of” BI on a limited set of local data, c) again transaction performance and data segregation of the warehouse. This architecture is already in use at many firms, but I wanted to call it out. Another option is to use two cloud database solutions, one ‘local’ to your region, and one globally dispersed for performance and redundancy using an ETL, although I am not convinced this would be a great architecture.  The second cloud tier can be a transformation from the first for regulatory archiving, if required by law either for finance or DR (Disaster Recovery) policy.

Freelance Streaming Video, Affiliate Advertising Innovation

As described in a previous post, see Streaming Video Freelance: Video Affiliate Network channels like Google Plus / YouTube, Facebook, Twitter and Viveo (everything from bar impromptu jams to concert events), I did not mention all the little bits to avoid issues such as all faces of the audience either need to have realtime face bluring technology similar to Facial recognition, or the people in the event must sign the waver, which might not be likely, so the solution will need a delayed streaming to allow blurring facial recognition software to work, and for some televised events, allow compliance to FCC regulations, edit introducing artificial intelligence (AI) word bleep insertion, and object recognition to blur the recognition of exposed body parts. 🙂 The ridiculously amazing advertising introduction: if a person signs up to allow to be seen, they could be picked if they are wearing a hat, sneakers, or certain brand of shirt, then if the AI object recognition picks up the object, a hue can accentuate the item, the viewer can pause the stream, click on the advertiser’s object on a video streaming tablet touch screen, and get a list of local and web distributors, prioritized by advertising, popularity, and rating.  Same goes for the red carpet events, and although not advertising dresses, suits, and accessories because of cost, it could enhance the event by again, pause, and get a blurb about the designer, the object and a link to the catalog or portfolio of the designer’s work. Introduces advertising revenue for on sight products. Even the videographers smartphone can have an addressable link to the product used to stream, as well as a small logo overlay which if clicked provides a profile of the videographer, and a brief portfolio of their work, all from a tablet application allowing the licensed distributor(s) a main channel in the center of the screen and small square boxes on the outer edge of the main window like PnP, and a person just taps on of the border boxed streams, and then that box becomes the stream that takes up the majority of the screen. The main window can have the absolute maximum fps for the device and the border windows may have half or a quarter of the allowed frames per second (fps), this way you still get to preview the alternate perspective streams, while watching the main stream. You can also auto hide the boarder preview streams to focus the user on the main stream and give them flexibility of alternate vantage points. The system may allow the videographer to bid for boarder alternate allowing placement of their streams in a particular corner, and frequency AS well as the user can have a ‘favorite’ freelancer videographer stream, and the system would allow for quicklinks to videographer streams the user knows will be at the event.
